RSCI Warning on Fetal Stem Cell Treatment
Release date: 3/9/2009
The news of tumor activity appearing after a fetal stem cell procedure is alarming and leads the Repair Stem Cell Institute to emphasize its opposition to fetal and embryonic stem cell treatments. RSCI actively supports therapies using the patient’s own stem cells or umbilical cord stem cells for over 100 life threatening conditions.
RSCI strongly believes it is imperative for the public to be aware of viable options.
Following a recently-published report of tumor activity on a boy treated with fetal stem cells, Don Margolis, Chairman of the The Repair Stem Cell Institute (RSCI), today reiterated his warning for people to first gather information and then choose their stem cell treatment center carefully. “The Institute does not know of any successfully completed fetal stem cell or embryonic stem cell clinical trials, and does not recommend any treatment center which uses either of those cell types.”
The Institute has created the only standards in the world covering stem cell treatment centers which can actually help people today. Patients seeking stem cell therapies can review these standards at RSCI’s site.
Mr. Margolis continued, “Though only eight stem cell treatment centers out of about 100 in the world have qualified so far, those eight are leading the world in treating over 100 medical conditions that were thought to be beyond help. “
Conditions such as Spinal Cord Injuries, Diabetes, Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Optic Nerve disorders, and most heart diseases have thousands of delighted patients. Read stories about over 200 of them at my blog at my Adult Stem Cell Research blog
Margolis added, “The reason we created the Institute was to guide patients to safe stem cell centers run by the top doctors in the world. The honoraria and accomplishments of our leading physicians is proof that we have succeeded."
RSCI is the only stem cell advocacy organization in the world where patients gather information, helping thousands every month learn the truth about stem cells. In addition, dozens of patients every month find the top stem cell doctors to treat what are often referred to as untreatable conditions. "Those who come to us for advice can find out who the doctors are, what they have accomplished, their honoraria, and a portion of their over 100 published peer-reviewed stem cell papers are posted on the RSCI site," said Margolis.
Mr. Margolis concluded with his never-changing plea to suffering patients everywhere, "If you or a loved one have been told by your doctor that there is nothing that he can do, know that there is something YOU can do, and that is (a) go to RepairStemCells.org; (b) bring yourself up to date on the latest stem cell achievements, and (c) make your own decision before you just throw in the towel."
